Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Clinical Fellowship

The Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Program at Dana-Farber/Boston Children's is an intensive one-year clinical training program designed to prepare physicians for a career in pediatric neuro-oncology.

Our trainees receive highly specialized, multidisciplinary training at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children's Hospital, two of Harvard Medical School's world-renowned teaching affiliates.

Clinical highlights

Dana-Farber/Boston Children's is the regional quaternary center for pediatric neuro-oncology. We oversee New England's most active pediatric oncology clinical research program. We also offer unique clinical trials for patients with newly diagnosed, relapsed, or refractory brain tumors.

We are members of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium, the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium (PNOC), and the Collaborative Network for Neuro-oncology Clinical Trials (CONNECT). We are also the Operations Center for the first DIPG-specific consortium, the DIPG ALL-In Consortium.

Other facts about us:

  • On our Clinical Neurosciences floor at Boston Children’s Hospital, we have a specialized pediatric neuro-oncology service for chemotherapy administration and other inpatient hospitalizations.
  • Our outpatient clinic sees over 2,000 visits per year.
  • We care for an average of 125 new patients each year.
  • We follow over 900 pediatric brain tumor survivors in our Outcomes Program.
  • Our Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) program partners with our adult medical neuro-oncology program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

We are committed to improving therapy for hard-to-treat pediatric brain tumors, such as atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor (ATRT), embryonal tumor with multilayered rosettes (ETMR), low-grade astrocytoma (LGA), high-grade astrocytomas (HGA), diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), and medulloblastoma.
